Waldkirch, November 2006 – The CVS3 Contour Vision Sensor from SICK allows reliable and economical detection of contours and their deviation from a taught-in object pattern. The most important features of the contour sensor which is based on CMOS technology, are its very short cycle time of just 7 ms, its long operating distance of up to 150 mm, its large detection field with position adjustment to offset positional variations, and its ability to store several detection programs. Shape and size detection, the checking of print-ing, or the detection of damage or dirt are typical examples of how this image-processing automation sensor can be used.
